The weather was beautiful, and on my way, the Saturday, I got some traffic, but still, I arrived in time.
I was bringing with me six chess computers!

Unfortunately, Henk van Weersel did not show up, We still do not know why.
Geert Roelof van der Ploeg was absent for a medical issue unfortunately.
I wish you the best, Geert!
Conclusion: we ended up with 13 chess computers.
To make it even, Hans van der Zijden was taking out the Sakkara Vega.
Finally, twelve computers were remaining.

We played with an external hour, like in real chess games: each side was getting 30 minutes.
It was possible to change the level of the chess computer at any time during the game.
This was nice, increasing the interest of the operator for the game: we were feeling more involved in the competition.
For example, in some games, the operators used too much time in the first moves.
In the last minutes of the game, missing time was stressful with big consequences on the end of the game.

I chose the Sargon 4.0 16 Mhz and removed the Amsterdam.
Also, the Super Mondial of Henk was put out.
The Kishon Chesster (running at 8 MHz) played some good games,
The Super Enterprise on 16mhz gave some surprises as well.

It was an exciting tournament, and, as collectors, we enjoyed it very much.
There was no reason to win other than the game and being together, discussing and talking about chess computers.

The EAG 2100 started as a rocket with 3 wins out of 3; the Conchess T8 won 1 and did 2 draws.

The fourth round was exciting, awakening everyone in the tournament!
The EAG 2100 versus MM IV won 2 out of 3, and the T8 versus Maestro D 6 MHz made 2 draws out of 3.
Both my chess computers lost, and both were terrible when out of the book.

Round 5 was the final round: the EAG 2100 won against the Galaxy.
The T8 won in a good attacking game as well and scored 3 out 5.
However, the last round was between the MM IV and the Maestro D: the MM IV won!

It was a good day.
I want to thank:
- our 3 collectors from Germany who played in our Tournament and
- Hans van der Zijden for his leadership collecting the results of each round on his laptop,
- our photographer Rob van Son and,
- Rüdiger Patommel for making a video of the Tournament video (a link will be added soon, here).

Already, the board of the CSVN gave the next date of the 29th User Tournament: November 2014.
Maybe the Elo will be raised to 2200.
I am already looking forward for it!!!

Hans van Mierlo
